We have a double crisis on our hands and as we always do, our people are on the forefront doing the best they can to help citizens who are in trouble due to the Cyclone or needing help in our hospitals.

Two freight companies in London have offered to carry material to Zimbabwe for the Cyclone Idai victims and for the Save Our Hospitals Zimbabwe initiative.

Air Freight Cargo Zimbabwe based in Warwickshire will be bringing goods donated for Cyclone Idai victims and Touchstone Freight will be ferrying gloves for the Save Our Hospitals Zimbabwe initiative.

Air Freight Cargo Zimbabwe has made an allowance for 200kgs, so if you want to assist please get in touch with them on +447943932570 or +447960998657.

Meanwhile a group of Zimbabwean ladies in the UK have launched the Gloves Initiative led by a Zimbabwean lady who works in the UK’s National Health Service.

Any Zimbabweans in the UK wanting to donate towards this initiative please send your well packaged and sealed gloves to Miriam Hakata,

16 Whychperry Road, Hayward Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1HJ

Alternatively the Gloves Campaign has set aside an account where you can deposit £15 for 3 boxes of gloves (600 gloves).

Account Number : 00536203. Sort Code: 11-02-25 Account Name C. Mukandatsama.
Please put reference as Gloves and post your deposit confirmation to +447985418603.

Touchstone Freight will bring the gloves to Zimbabwe at no charge.

As our country grapples with these major calamities brought by Cyclone Idai and a broken Health service, we should focus on DOING and not just talking politics.

An appropriate time will come when that can be discussed, a lot of citizens in our communities have come to the party, let us enhance their efforts by assisting their work.

Zimbabweans anywhere in the world who can assist with donations or simply giving their time should do so, the country belongs to us and not the government, so let us remove politics from these initiatives

For more information on the Gloves initiative please call +447985418603, that number also takes whatsapp calls.

For the Cyclone Idai freight issues call +447943932570 or +447960998657.

I will post the hospital lists once the clinical directors come back to me with them.
