New South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced his cabinet, making substantial changes to ministerial positions.He reappointed Nhlanhla Nene as finance minister, reversing his sacking by the former President Jacob Zuma.

Boulder crushes mine worker

A worker at Blanket Mine in Gwanda died when a boulder fell on him while working in a mine shaft. Tapiwa Ndabanengi (27) died in a 15-metre deep mine while working in the company of Tererai Bvovonye (38) at around 10PM on Friday.

Youth arrested for ‘striking’ rival suitor to death with stone

A 22-year-old Gokwe man has been arrested for allegedly striking a rival suitor to death with a stone in a brawl over a bar lady.It is alleged that Samson Mudzingwa of Taruzeza Village under Chief Njelele, Gokwe, died last Wednesday evening after he was struck with a stone on the chest by Tamburai Maware (32) of the same village.

Taxi driver ‘rapes, robs’ Bulawayo woman

An 18-year-old woman from Emakhandeni suburb in Bulawayo was allegedly raped and robbed on her way to the city centre by a pirate taxi driver who had offered her transport.The woman, whose identity has been withheld for ethical reasons, was on her way to the city centre on Saturday at about 7PM when the incident occurred.
