A Harare man appeared in court pleading for his wife’s forgiveness.
Cuthbert Manyika told the court that he is being hurt by his wife Forget Karimapfumbi who is allegedly having a love affair with her ex-husband and he wants her back.
“This woman is my wife, we don’t have kids together but l love her so much.
“But whenever we have a misunderstanding, she threatens going back to her ex-husband.
“Also each time l am broke, she will be insulting saying that that’s why l am barren.
“My Worship, I am now feeling ashamed of myself, my marriage is becoming a disaster because of my physical condition.
“Yes, I might have wronged you my wife but please forgive me.
“She beats me using dangerous objects whenever we have a misunderstanding, my Worship,” said Manyika.
In response Karimapfumbi denied all the allegations.
“He is lying, l don’t beat him but tinorovana.
“We used to have a happy marriage with my husband, we even do our things together happily, and we bought a stand in 2008 and a car in 2010 together.
“The problem emerged when l had a business in Motoko, he started assaulting me saying I was having an affair with my ex-husband because that’s where he lived.
“These were all lies, with my first husband we only had one child and we separated.
“This issue worsened when my ex-husband came to claim his child, Manyika started insulting me saying l am a prostitute, I was having a love affair with my ex-husband.
“That’s when he started having girlfriends my Worship.
“His young brother even said that I am not related to him and his maiguru is going to come meaning that there is someone out there.
“Otherwise the issue that we don’t have kids together, l never used it against him,” said Karimapfumbi.
Presiding magistrate Amanda Muridzo gave both parties a reciprocal peace order and ordered them to solve their marital issues in an amicable way. H Metro
