Addressing the media after the politburo meeting, Zanu PF secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo said the nonagenarian leader has ordered the party bigwigs to stop factional fights.

“He urged members to solve their differences in the central committee or politburo which has always been the Zanu PF way of dealing with issues

“The president . . . implored party members to be united at all levels.

“He further said due care should be taken when choosing candidates to represent the party in by-elections to avoid a repetition of the Norton situation.”

According to Chombo, the politburo has lifted the suspension of former Information minister Webster Shamu of Mashonaland West, Francis Nhema and Flora Buka, both from the Midlands Province.

“The secretary for the commissariat reported that the party had been disappointed by its loss of the Norton Constituency.”

He also added that the party is looking for $4 million for the party’s annual conference in Masvingo in December.

“We are happy that the finance secretary has so far manage to raise $3,6 million.”
