Flamboyant Zimbabwean rapper Desmond “Stunner” Chideme was involved in a freak accident while driving in the capital Harare on Monday.
The accident happened at the intersection of Third Street and Jason Moyo Avenue after Stunner rammed his Lexus into four parked vehicles and injuring one pedestrian.
According to a statement Stunner gave to the police, the rapper claimed his red Lexus burst a tyre and hit the vehicles that were parked along the road.
“It is amazing that I am alive and escaping from a scene like this is just a miracle. I was not speeding at all. I was just coming from Fourth Street traffic lights, I believe I lost control of my car when my front tyre burst,” Stunner said.
When journalists arrived at the scene Stunner had sought refuge at a nearby surgery.
“I swerved and hit four cars that were parked along Jason Moyo before my car stopped facing the opposite direction. I heard some people are saying that I was driving in the wrong direction but that is not true.
“I am very fit and strong as you can see. What pains me the most is that I was still paying for this vehicle. It is so sad that before I could even finish paying the balance, it is badly damaged. I am yet to get the correct information about injuries at the scene but I pray that there are no serious injuries, “said Stunner.
