There was Beverly (Sibanda) and the Sexy Angels then Zoey (Sifelani) and the Red Angels, but a new girl, Chocolate, real name Vimbai Muzuva is now rocking the stage dancing circles.
Billed to perform today (Friday) in Mutare at Live @ 5 at Macs Shopping Centre, Chocolate and her group, the Mousse Queens are out to prove their mettle.
Chocolate who rose to fame last year has since conquered the local stage dancing circles, even performing beyond the borders as far as China and regionally in South Africa and Zambia.
Chocolate combines both pole and stage dancing in her performances. Last year in October Chocolate toured China where she had a six months stint.
In an interview on Monday, she said her drive was to professionalise stage dancing.
“I have had six years in the industry, but it was only last year that I rose to fame and decided to start my own group. I have always had my own perception about stage dancing and professionalizing the art is one of the things I want to drive.
“The exposure I got in China and wherever I tour regionally has taught me that discipline is very important in this industry,” said Chocolate.
While on the other hand her rival, raunchy dancer, Bev, has often caught media attention through controversy, Chocolate said she was media shy and wanted to be in the spotlight for upholding professionalism in the industry. Manica Post
