Rumbidzai Marclarance Muchenje, 32, of Unit K, Chitungwiza had to part with US$100 after he was ordered to pay a fine for pleading guilty to physical abuse charges.

Muchenje appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Blessing Murwisi and if he fails to pay the money, will spend 30 days behind bars.

In addition, Muchengete was slapped with a wholly suspended two months jail term.

Prosecutor Edmond Ndambukuwa proved that on February 25 at around 11pm, Muchenje had a misunderstanding with his wife Chiedza Mutimbwa, 29, after she requested that they should go for HIV/AIDS tests.

This did not go down well with Muchenje, who felt challenged and started hurling insults at Mutimbwa. The court heard that without giving her time to respond, Muchenje charged towards her and showered her with slaps before punching her.

Muchenje also throttled his wife.

Shortly after the scuffle, the court heard that Muchenje went on to demand sex with Mutimbwa. She refused to be intimate with him since he always forces her to have oral sex. After that Mutimbwa went to the police to report the matter leading to his arrest.
