This also comes as the Gokwe-Nembudziya legislator remains under pressure – along two others – for allegedly intimidating at least three government ministers and fellow Midlands executive members.

Wadyajena’s lawyer Givemore Muvhiringi confirmed that his client had been cleared of “criminal insult” charges after Victoria Falls magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa had ruled in favour of their refusal of further remand application since section 95 had been outlawed by the Constitutional Court.

However, the flamboyant legislator remains under the cosh and specifically section 41 of the new constitution.

As such, Wadyajena – a key ally of embattled Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa – is due back in court on the alternative disorderly conduct rap on February 01, Muvhiringi said.
