Pastors in vain resurrection attempt

BULAWAYO – Two daring Bulawayo-based pastors shocked mourners at West Park Cemetery when they held a fruitless prayer session to resurrect a dead woman.

Reliable sources who attended the funeral service told B-Metro that before the deceased Anna Nyandoro was buried, Pastor Michael Majachani and his colleague only identified as Pastor Bero of House of Glory first conducted a resurrection sermon and prayers at her home in Emganwini suburb but to no avail.

The pastors reportedly told mourners not to be quick to accept the death of Nyandoro but to have faith that she could resurrect after they prayed for her.

This was after the body had been housed at a mortuary and a post mortem conducted, not to mention that the body had been subjected to very low temperatures too.

A source who is a relative of the late woman spoke to B-Metro.

“They emphasised that before rushing to mourn your friends and relatives one has to first negotiate with God to have mercy and give the deceased a second chance to live,” she said.

After the home sermon was held, people are said to have been left tongue-tied when the two pastors took the same resurrection gospel to the grave. Majachani and Bero are said to have taken turns in commanding Nyandoro to “wake up” but their efforts were in vain.

“One of the pastors started hitting the coffin and kept on saying Anna if you can hear me wake up,” said another source.

The service is said to have ended when the pastors told people that God had heard their request but they should accept his decision of taking Nyandoro.

When B-Metro got hold of Majachani he said there was nothing wrong with him and Bero believing that Nyandoro would resurrect.

“We had faith that Nyandoro would resurrect if God permitted that is why we held those prayers. People should not give up on the dead,” he said. B Metro
