After being spotted together on a night out in celebrity jaunt The Box, Nicole Schezinger has sparked rumours of reconciliation with former fiancé and just crowned Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton.
According to The Sun, the pair, who called time on their romance earlier this year, spent several hours in a private room at the London club over the weekend.
“The Box’s security were not allowed in Nicole and Lewis’s room and told to not let anybody else in,” an insider said. “They stayed well after the club shut. Staff were desperate for them to leave.”
If the rumours are true, then Scherzinger may want to reconsider giving their tubulent relationship yet another go. After all, he is an ex for a reason. The 37-year-old’s representative told MailOnline that she is “not back with Lewis” and that the pair just happen to be partying in the same venues, but just in case she does have a change of heart, here are a few reasons why she needs to keep her resolve.
1. Wendy Williams
If Scherzinger gives the relationship another try, one person who will not let her live it down is brutally outspoken talkshow host Wendy Williams. You may recall that the former Pussycat Doll was hounded when she appeared on the daytime talk show back in September. Williams spent most of their candid sit-down reminding the pop star that she had wasted seven years of her life and hinted that she may now struggle to have children as a result.
“I was saying, because you’re 37, this is a woman who spent seven years of her life breaking up and getting back together,” Williams said during their awkward exchange. “Poor us because [men] can have babies whenever they want. Those are seven years you can never get back and he was really wealthy. I was rooting for you, girl.”
2. A cycle of dysfunction
In February 2015, Scherzinger split from the Formula One racer after seven years of dating on and off. Relationships are work, and sometimes that work is worth it. But when the bad starts to outweigh the good, you have to love yourself enough to move on. Breaking up to make up is all fun and games when you are teenagers − and you even get a pass in your early twenties − but in your thirties, you have to question whether you are caught up in a cycle of dysfunction and are secretly addicted to the drama.
3. It’s time to move on
In February, a heartbroken Scherzinger admitted that she was “devastated” following her split from the sportsman. “I try not to regret things, because I feel like as long as you put positive energy towards something – and you put your whole self, your true self, towards it – it’ll lead you to the next place you’re supposed to be,” she told The Telegraph.
Although there is a good chance that she is still in love, there is no point flogging a dead horse. Sometimes constantly breaking up is a sign that you are incompatible and need to stop forcing something that is essentially not there. While time heals, it doesn’t mean that you have to go back down that same road.
4. He’s not that into you
Call it archaic, sexist, or even idealistic but a man always knows if he wants a woman. If Lewis Hamilton isn’t married to Scherzinger, it is because deep down he doesn’t want to be. Don’t be a seat filler (someone who provides comfort until the real deal comes along). Since their split, Hamilton has been romantically linked to pop superstar Rihanna, as well American model Gigi Hadid.
5. Clean slate
You know the old saying − better the devil you know, than the angel you don’t. Well that doesn’t apply here. Back in June, the Don’t ‘Cha hitmaker appeared to have moved on from Hamilton with the help of ex-Premier League star Pajtim Kasami. The pair sparked romance rumours after they were snapped kissing during a sunshine break to Mykonos, Greece.
