SA man rapes his 73-year-old mother at axe-point

Two men, aged 43 and 40, have appeared before the Acornhoek Magistrate’s Court, in the Northern Province of South Africa, on charges of rape. The suspects’ appearance follows police action that led to their swift arrest during separate incidents that occurred at various places in Acornhoek.

In the first incident, it is alleged that on 16 May 2015, at approximately 01:00, a 43-year-old man went into the bedroom of his 73-year-old mother while she was asleep and broke the door with an axe. He gained entry to the room and threatened to kill her. The heartless and disgraceful son then forcefully undressed and raped his vulnerable mother.

The victim reported the incident to her daughter who in turn notified the police hence the arrest yesterday.

In the case of the 40-year-old man, which occurred at Matsikitsane Trust, an eleven-year-old girl told her grandmother that she felt unbearable pains in her back. It later appeared that she was allegedly raped by the boyfriend of her grandmother on the 13th of May 2015. The girl was afraid to report the incident because he threatened to kill her should she tell anyone.

The woman then took the girl to the hospital for medical examination and it was confirmed that she had been raped. Police were notified and the case was registered for investigation. During the investigation, police uncovered that it was not for the first time the suspect raped the victim.

Both suspects were remanded in custody and the cases postponed to 02 June 2015, pending formal bail application. South African Latest News
