Revenue generated by mobile network operators in Zimbabwe declined by 17.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2014 while the number of base stations increased by 9.7 percent, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) said.

Operators generated a total of USD 907.3 million in 2014, down from USD 11 billion in 2013.

The most significant decline came between the third and fourth quarters of 2014, of at least USD 28.1 million.

A comparison of the fourth quarter revenues with the third quarter shows a decline by 11.3 percent from USD 247.8 million in the third to USD 219.7 million in the fourth quarter. Telecompaper.com
