The defender, who has been linked with a number of top flight league clubs, among them Dynamos, Harare City, Triangle United and How Mine, said he was club hunting as he was determined to cut ties with Kauya Katuruturu.

“I am club hunting at the moment and to be honest I am no longer attached to ZPC Kariba. They dealt in bad faith with our contracts and if they had given us our monies then they would have a right to control us, but we do not owe them anything,” said Dauda in reference to the two-year deals that a number of the ZPC Kariba players signed prior to the start of last season.

Dauda said that the he was fed up with life at last year’s PSL runners-up and was willing to join any team as he was now focusing on his career.

“It’s not about which club I will be joining because at the moment I am fed up with ZPC Kariba and I am not going back there. If it means that I will be playing for Chapungu then let it be, but I am not going back to ZPC Kariba,” said the emotionally charged Dauda.

The lanky centre-back, who failed to make the grade at one of Azerbaijan’s leading sides Gabala early this month, revealed that no local team had sought audience over his services in the upcoming season as yet, but he was going to approach certain teams in the coming weeks as he intensifies his club-hunting expedition.

“It has just been speculation that has been linking me with Dynamos, Harare City or How Mine. None of the local teams has approached me for my services, but I think will be the one who shall be courting them to join them as my heart is no longer with ZPC Kariba,” he added.

Of the teams that Dauda has been linked with, it appears Triangle United and How Mine could be his likely destination, with the former’s head coach Kevin Kaindu having openly expressed his admiration for the centre-back.

How Mine coach Luke Masomere has also indicated he is seeking to reinforce his defence with a quality signing, raising speculation the Bulawayo-based side might be interested in Dauda. The Zimbabwe Mail
