“His condition has slightly improved since the stroke before Christmas but he cannot talk and one side of his body is paralysed. We are encouraged by the fact that you can still that there is life in him and we hope God will restore him to health,” said the family member.

The senior broadcaster is admitted at St Giles hospital where he is undergoing specialised treatment and physiotherapy, the source said.

Taderera was sent on forced leave in August 2014 for alleged poor performance at Star FM, a Zimpapers electronic subsidiary which has been making heavy losses since its inception in 2012, and has since left the pop station.

Said another family member: “It seems Admire was affected by developments at Star FM. He was stressed.”

He was the station’s founding general manager and has more than 25 years’ experience in broadcasting as a presenter, radio soccer commentator, disc jockey as well as station manager. The Zimbabwean
