Sunday Times reported that the traditional ceremony on Saturday was policed by more than 20 security guards in black suits and red ties who ensured that only invited guests entered.

The ceremony in a big white marquee outside Matlala’s home was attended by 500 people. At the end of the street a large glass marquee was erected.

Meanwhile, City Press reported that Matlala was wearing a layered fuchsia tulle skirt and navy bodice with traditional detailing, while Malema wore a simple unembellished blue dashiki.

According to the report, some guests arrived in a helicopter and were taken to the wedding venue in a Golf 7.

Malema bought his bride an expensive engagement ring with blue diamonds before the wedding, the newspaper reported.

Guests included Economic Freedom Fighters chairman Dali Mpofu, Malema’s lawyer Tumi Mokwena, former Muvhango actress Lerato Moloi and former Limpopo premier Cassel Mathale.

Malema, his grandmother and son, Ratanang, arrived at the venue around 1pm, Sunday Times reported.

Kgaogelo Thobakgale, a Seshego resident who went early to witness the ceremony despite not being invited, said it was a happy time for the town.

“We are here making a guard of honour by the entrance to show our appreciation. Julius married a local girl and this big wedding is happening right here in Seshego. I’m happy,” Thobakgale was quoted as saying in the Sunday Times.

City Press reported that another marquee was set up in front of Malema’s grandmother’s house, where a second party of the wedding will take place on Sunday. Sowetan

“How can you post that leaving the EFF is the best decision, my wife Mantoa is to like such a thing and you say Malema is with us when the partner seeks to denounce the movement. Leave now, so that we can know how many soldiers we have in this struggle to liberate us. You must leave today because nothing is going to change between now and December, nothing is going to change now and the future."
