Biggie Zuze warns Dynamos

Under-fire Triangle coach Biggie Zuze has issued a warning to Dynamos ahead of the two sides’ clash in the One Wallet Cup this weekend.

The Chiredzi-based side have had a very difficult season thus far in the league and are in danger of going down unless they start picking up points in the remaining six matches.

Zuze is in his last chance saloon at the Chiredzi-based side as defeat to DeMbare could be his last match in charge of the side.

So a lot is riding on this match for Zuze as he needs nothing short of a victory to convince the Triangle hierarchy that he is the right man for the job and he can steer the side to safety.

Victory in this cup competition will also provide the side some solace after a troubling season in the league.

“Preparations for our game against Dynamos are going on well. We are going into the match looking for a positive result,” Zuze told the Daily News yesterday.

“We know it’s not going to be an easy game, but I want to tell you that anything can happen in football; no matter we are playing Dynamos we are looking to win the One Wallet Cup.

We know Dynamos is a big team, but there is no need for them to underestimate us as you know the game of football is played on the field.”

Zuze said this cup final provides a perfect opportunity for his side to kick-start their survival as a win on Sunday will massively boost their confidence when the league action resumes.

“I think this is our best chance to redeem ourselves, we want to make our supporters happy and this is the best chance to do it,” said the former Monomotapa coach.

“Dynamos are playing very well but as a team we want to open a new winning chapter starting this weekend and I think the win will give us confidence going into our league.

“I told my boys that we want to put aside our winless run in the league and focus on this particular game.

“We don’t want to put ourselves under unnecessary pressure; our aim is to play our normal game and to be on our best against Dynamos.

However, Zuze is concerned about his side’s lack of creativity in recent matches.

The lowveld based side have only been able to score four times in their last six league matches a scenario which has seen them been dragged back into the relegation mix.

“If you look in our previous matches, my boys are playing well but our major problem is that we are failing to score,” he said.

“We need to work on our strike force; in terms of scoring goals in open play. We are getting there in terms of attacking but we are failing to convert our chances.

“It’s bad for our club. We are going to sit down and correct our mistakes mainly the striking department.”

Dynamos will go into this match high on confidence as they currently sit top of the log standing with 46 points, two ahead of second-placed ZPC Kariba.

Calisto Pasuwa’s men also completed the double over triangle in the league and the last meeting between the two sides at Gibbo Stadium caused a lot of controversy after DeMbare emerged 1-2 victors.

Zuze accused the Harare giants of being favoured by match officials comments which did not go down well with the DeMbare camp. Daily News
