Arsenal are set to offer Paris Saint Germain £32million plus Olivier Giroud for their striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports in France.
Cavani has been rumoured to be a transfer target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and he has been boosted by suggestions that the Uruguayan wants to quit PSG this summer.
And now French news website Sport.fr reports that Arsenal are poised to finally make a player-plus-cash offer for him.
They claim the bid will be £32milion cash plus Giroud going the other way, with the total package worth about £50million.
It’s not clear wether PSG would accept such an offer after Zlatan Ibrahimovic picked up an injury last weekend, but Giroud would be a cheaper backup option to the Swede – helping the Ligue 1 team to lower their wage bill.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of top strikers this summer from Loic Remy to Mario Balotelli. Metro (UK)
