The Amakhosi are hoping to sign the Zimbabwean international to the club for another year-long loan from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim, and are hoping to do so as soon as possible so that the striker can assist them in winning the MTN8.

Chiefs are set to play Platinum Stars in the first leg of their MTN8 semifinal this coming Saturday, and while Musona will probably not be available for that match, Motaung is hoping to have tied down his signature by the second leg on August 24.

Musona spent last season with the Soweto giants who have maintained their interest in retaining him, but he was recalled to his parent club with the hope of finding him another European club.

With no progress made, Motaung has confirmed that they have made a fresh approach to bring the marksman back.

“The player is still in Germany, where he had been undergoing rehab,” said Motaung.

“The agreement was that he would try exhausting all options in finding a club overseas, and if that doesn’t happen he will return to us.

“It looks like he can’t find a club that side, so we have begun firmly negotiating for his services.” MTN Football
