A bishop with Zviratidzo Zvevapostori Church is under fire from his congregates amid allegations that he is on a child-siring spree wherever he goes.
Contacted for comment Richman Nyangombe boasted about having more than 30 kids and dismissed the allegations as fabrications meant to maliciously tarnish his reputation.
Allegations are the bishop Nyangombe has impregnated several women countrywide and is now allegedly boasting of having many children even though he is not taking the women or the children to live under his roof.
This is against his church’s belief because, although they are allowed to have more than one wife, they should properly marry the women and provide for them and their children.
It is alleged that the bishop has a tendency of dating women and youths in the church taking advantage of his ‘pockets’ but does not provide for them.
The congregates are now willing to expose this behaviour.
“We are now living a life full of misery from this bishop and we thought the church was the safe place to be.
“We have the new “Gumbura” at our church. He lures ladies with groceries and luxurious things in order to sleep with them,” said one of the victims.
Another youth expressed sadness at his conduct.
“No one has the guts to report the matter and he boasts about having connections in the police force. Everyone is too afraid to expose him and he sleeps with both married and unmarried women including youths.”
Some of the victims are now contemplating committing suicide.
“Some of the women with whom he slept are threatening suicide and his children have gone beyond 30, said another church member.
H-Metro contacted the bishop for comment and he boasted about having more than 30 kids and dismissed the allegations as fabrications and he had many wives.
“I have many wives just because ndirimupositori, my father had more than 200 children and he had many wives.
“Our family is huge and I have many children and I will not disclose to you the number of my children because you are not going to help me in any way to fend for them,” he said.
Nyangombe also stated that according to their church’s constitution they can have as many wives as they want.
“We can have many children and as many wives as we can, according to the constitution.”
“Why are you asking me that? In Nyanga there is M******u who has many children and some vapositori have many children.
“I am not the owner of the church but I am someone who has been assigned to have a leading role in this church.
“I don’t stay at one place because of my role, I move from place to place doing my job,” he added.
“I am not giving anyone groceries but it’s the church which rather gives me and I give people.
“Who is supplying this information to you?
“You are being sent because people want to cause divisions in the church.
“The congregation in Marondera has collapsed and I want to know who told you this information. We have few people who belong to this church,” he said.
He also threatened this publication indicating they do not know him and his capabilities.
“Do you really know me and do you know what I can do or you just saying things which you are not aware of,” he said.
The church’s Harare Province General Secretary Mhondiwa Kundishora poured cold water on the allegations citing that they maybe the works of the devil.
“Bishop called me to check with you guys and can you hold on to the story for today so that we can come back to you tomorrow.
“I am not really sure about these allegations perhaps it might be the divisions which are happening in our church because C*****e has left the church and started his own church.
“There are some women and other guys who left the church.
“I think they are the one who are spreading all these lies.
“I am not in a position to defend the bishop but why did those women come here without notifying us at church level? He said.
Kundishora cited that the constitution allows them to have many wives and blamed the women for falling for the bishop.
“Why didn’t they apply for maintenance or report to the police, it shows they enjoyed it and there is no problem when they consented,” he said. H Metro
