Youths did not invade shrine — Police

HARARE – Police have denied reports that Zanu PF youths have turned the shrine of Johane Masowe weChishanu leader Madzibaba Ishmael Mufani on the outskirts of Harare’s Budiriro high-density suburb into a brick moulding site.

Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi, in a statement, said the police carried an investigation and discovered that the shrine has not been taken over by Zanu PF youths.

“Investigations by the police have revealed that the Johane Masowe weChishanu Apostolic set shrine in Budiriro has not been invaded or taken over by Zanu PF youths as claimed,” Nyathi said.

“The shrine is still in the state in which it was left after the sect members deserted it. There are no signs of brick moulding work taking place at the shrine as alleged. Daily News
