Affectionately known by his legion of fans as the dancehall father, the hoarse-voiced reggae-dancehall artiste is expected to share the stage with Bulawayo’s fast rising dancehall artiste Centre Party.

They will also be joined by urban grooves artiste and rapper Yoz (real name Kennedy Simbanegavi), Sean Milia, Khoikoi, Chikota and Playaz Inc DJs.

This will not be Shinso’s first time to perform in the city as he staged shows at Amphitheatre and Stop Over earlier this year.

Shinsoman’s manager Peter Chingoka promised fans a world-class and exciting show.

“Our fans in Bulawayo should come prepared to have a good time. The dancehall father has improved greatly in terms of his music and stage performance. People should come and witness this for themselves,” he said. Chingoka said revellers would also have an opportunity to sample some of the dancehall father’s tracks from his yet-to-be-released No doubt album. The album will be released next month.

One of the organisers of the show, Ashley Ndebele, appealed to dancehall fans in the city to attend the show in their numbers.

“The dancehall father will be at Cape to Cairo tomorrow without fail. I urge all the dancehall lovers to make a date with us and come in their numbers to enjoy good music from Shinso. People should not worry about the cold as we have organised heaters to keep them warm.”

Shinso’s show in the city comes at a time when dancehall fans were pleading with promoters to host more dancehall shows, as it is a genre they like. Last weekend, Harare’s dancehall sound houses, Legendary Sounds and Red Fox were in the city and left fans crying for more.

It remains to be seen if Shinso will live up to expectations as he has never disappointed at the shows he has staged in the city and elsewhere in the country. Chronicle
