Harare – Kingdom Embassy Church leader Prophet Passion Panganai Java is embroiled in a nasty US$19 000 vehicle wrangle with a Harare man.

Passion allegedly borrowed one Joseph Sagwati’s Mazda Eagle SDX intending to deliver posters for the launch of his church in Chitungwiza before being involved in an accident at the Caledon shops along Seke Road.

The vehicle was a complete write-off and reports suggest that the person who was driving the vehicle was not licensed resulting in the vehicle owner losing on insurance. The vehicle is estimated to cost US$19 000 and Passion only paid US$2000 last week since 2011.

Efforts by Sagwati to claim his vehicle have been met with hostility, with Passion’s church bouncers manhandling Sagwati and his wife at their church premises. They denied him a chance to meet the prophet.

Efforts to get prophet Passion on several cell numbers were futile. His personal assistant only identified as Mungoshi said: “You cannot speak to him on my phone,” and said he could not give this reporter the Prophets mobile number, “Hazviite handina” he said.

Sagwati narrated the whole issue to H-Metro.

“Passion approached me in January 2011 while I was attending a church service at his brother’s Tabernacle of Grace church for him to go and drop some posters for the launch of his church service at his brother’s Tabernacle of Grace Church for him to go and drop some posters for the launch of his church Kingdom Embassy,” he said.

“He was in the company of top aides with one called Muza and gave the vehicle to one Israel Mathews who drove to Chitungwiza. They crashed at the traffic lights at Caledon and overturned twice and it was a write off. Passion and his wife were in the car and they all sustained some injuries,” he said.

Claims are that the driver was not licensed.

“It turned out that the driver was not licensed there was no record of his licence at the licence registry.

Israel was fined for negligent driving,” he said.

He alleged that Passion and his crew tried to doctor the insurance claims.

“Passion opted to use Muza to complete the insurance claim forms since he was licensed.

“I was alerted of this anomaly by the broker who advised that this was a zero claim,” he said.

He said he had sought formal and informal meetings with Passion, without success and Passion had allegedly reported him to the police over visiting his church.

“Three times he reported me to the police. His people also manhandled me and my wife at their church,” he said.

Sagwati added that Passion’s brother Apostle Java of TOG has on many occasions promised to have a round table meeting over the issue without success.

He claimed that Passion has become evasive and is constantly changing his cell numbers.

“I think there are several people who are being taken advantage of by these prophets using the “touch not the anointed” cliché. I just want my vehicle or money,” he said. H Metro
