The trio of Bismark ‘Beazo’ Maidza and dancers Kelvin ‘Kerezeni’ Sibanda and Judas ‘Judah’ Musindo took drugs, among them bron cleer known as bronco in street lingo and marijuana (mbanje) from a drug dealer (name withheld) whom they promised to pay at a later date.

The three are said to have taken the hard drugs while on their way to a musical show at Extra Mile Leisure Spot late last year promising to settle the debt two days later.

“I supply most of peter Moyo’s band members with drugs especially bronco and they are my good customers,” said the dealer.

“So these three came and took two bottles of bronco while on their way to a show saying they didn’t have money and would pay later. They pleaded saying magitare haangafaye kana vasina kubatwa.

“I gave them the drugs in trust but they didn’t pay up. I later heard that they are now dealing with another person. I once met with their workmate (name withheld) and he promised that he would tell them to come with the money but nothing like that happened,” he added.

This journalist spotted one member of the Utakataka Express dancers taking drugs from the dealer. Contacted for comment, Benzo was furious that the news had reached the media.

“Who is that person, who told you the news? I don’t know such things and I don’t know the person you are talking about,” he said.
