The midfielder-cum-striker who is younger brother to Kaizer Chiefs forward Knowledge spent the second half of last season on-loan at Motor Action from Aces Youth Academy.

Musona was once on the Dynamos radar with the champions officially writing to Aces Academy requesting his services but were rejected.

Chicken Inn were also chasing the teenager.

It is cash-rich FC Platinum who won his signature as they bid for a maiden league title. The platinum miners have also signed Musona’s teammate at Aces and Motor Action Wisdom Mutasa.

Interestingly, Mutasa would be coached by his father Lloyd at FC Platinum.

Another major signing by FC Platinum is former Buffaloes forward Steven Sibanda who scored 13 goals last season.

Sibanda would be part of a strikeforce that already have Donald Ngoma, Nelson Mazivisa and another new signing Tarisai Rukanda who joined from rivals Shabanie Mine.

“Our quest continues to be one of remaining a formidable and competitive outfit, in Zimbabwe,” said FC Platinum president George Mawere in a statement.

“For the current season, we have sought to boost our team by a number of new signings. These include Young Warriors attacker Walter Musona from Aces Academy, promising linkman Wisdom Mutasa, Steven Sibanda from Buffaloes, and bustling striker Tarisai Rukanda.”

After relying on big signings in the past three seasons, the platinum miners have turned on youth to bolster their squad.

In line with our long term strategy of grooming local talent and giving exposure to players in our development sides, (Under 19 and Guinea Fowls Academy), we have promoted Tatenda Dzumbunu, Livingstone Genti and Godfrey Chisango, from junior teams and DC academy’s talented James Marufu,” Mawere said.

Dzumbunu and Genti we part of the national Under-20 team at the Cosafa youth tournament last year together with Musona and Mutasa. SuperSport.com
