The 61 year old man identified as Dumbura said his ex-girlfriend Nyasha Mukono was failing to come to terms with the fact that their relationship had ended and keeps coming to his place.

This came to light at the civil court where he applied for a protection order against Nyasha as he revealed that he had realised that the respondent was HIV positive while he tested HIV negative hence his decision to end the relationship.

“My wife passed on some time back so I decided to marry again and I met this woman. We had unprotected sex and then we decided to go for an HIV test that is when I tested negative and she came out positive.

“Ndopandakamuti zvazvabuda zvakadai kuti tichigara tese hazviite. Iwe waiziva kuti unewutachiwana saka ndingadai ndakabatira ka.

“Haana kuda kuzvigamuchira nekuti kubva ipapo anogara achiuya kumba kwangu kuGlen Norah achipopota zvekuti handisisina kana rugare.

“She has also threatened to deal with me nekuti anoti iye haanzwaro ndimubvunze kune vanomuzviva,” he said.

Nyasha however dismissed all the allegations as she denied that she was HIV positive further alleging that the man raped her.

“Ini handina chirwere uye baba ava vakandiraper pandakatanga kurara navo,” she said.

Presiding magistrate Rebecca Kavhiya asked her if she had reported the rape to the police and she said she had not because the man had promised to marry her.

“So stop saying that you were raped because you did not report the matter to the police,” magistrate kavhiya reprimanded her.

Nyasha also told the court that Dumbura had connived with people at the New Start clinic so that he would come out with negative results.

“Ivo ndovatori nechirwere baba ivava uye vakatenga vanhu kuclinic kuti vanzi vari negative. Izvezvi varikufamba vachiudza vanhu kuti ini ndine chirwere uye vachandiroora,” she said.

Magistrate Kavhiya granted the protection order in favour of Dumbura.

“Nditori nenhumbu ine mwedzi miviri saka vanoda kuti ndiende kupi nayo. Vanenge vane mushonga baba ivava vanoda vakadzi vanemagaro iyezvino vakanditambisa ndakarara navo kakawanda asi vakundiramba,” she told the court. H Metro
