Billiat: People say Sundowns kill careers
SOUTH AFRICA – Zimbabwean footballer Khama Billiat says he is aware of Mamelodi Sundowns’ reputation as a graveyard for players deemed surplus to requirements – but insists he is ready to fight.
“When I first heard of Sundowns interest, I told myself that I was going to focus on helping Ajax survive relegation,” Billiat tells KICK OFF, revealing that Sundowns had come calling before the end of the season.
“I needed this move. I know people say that Sundowns kills players’ careers, but I’m ready to fight … this motivated me to work even harder. I realised I was in my comfort zone for too long and my game was not going anywhere.”
