Policeman found dead in Harare

A 33-year-old policeman based at Harare Central Police Station was found dead on Saturday with blood flowing from his mouth and ears and a shoelace tied to his neck. Constable Timoth Mbovha’s body was found lying along Twentydales Road in Hatfield, Harare.

Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident saying investigations were in progress. He said police suspect that Mbovha was murdered considering the injuries found on his body.

“We received a report following the death of Constable Timoth Mbovha based at Harare Central Police Station who was found dead on Saturday in Hatfield,” he said.

It is alleged that on the fateful day Mbovha had been on duty at the Chibuku Road to Fame and had reported for duty at around 1am. His body was found along Twentydales Road at around 5:30 am by a woman who was escorting her husband to work.

Chief Supt Nyathi appealed to members of the public who might have the knowledge of what transpired to report to any nearest police station. The Herald
