Its being alleged that on the 24th of July this year Takura Mufumisi entered Landmark Bar in the city with the intention to relieve himself in the bar toilets. A Zanu PF activist known as Osman Musengi, claims that Mufumisi tore up Mugabe’s poster which he found inside and allegedly used it as toilet paper.

Musengi immediately effected a citizen’s arrest and took Mufumisi to Masvingo Central Police Station. Last week Mufumisi appeared at the Masvingo Magistrates’ Courts charged with violating the Electoral Act or, alternatively, destruction of political material.

Magistrate Tinashe Ndokera adjourned the matter indefinitely as the State could not identify the witness.
