Sleep with me to fast track your tape: ZBC boss

RADIO Zimbabwe chief producer, Cain ‘Big Dhara’ Chikosha, appeared in court on allegations of indecent assault. Chikosha (49), appeared before Mbare magistrate Precious Muzondo, and denied ever abusing his subordinate.

ZBC behind the downfall of local artistsHe also described the claims as malicious to his 23 year old service within the institution. The veteran radio personality told the court that he never said anything indecent to the complainant, neither any physical contact on her.

The subordinate insisted that her boss committed the offence.

The State, led by Tendai Shonhayi, led one witness and now awaits the testimony of the superior who was advised of the matter on the day in question. Allegations are that on May 17, between the hours of 11 and 12 pm the subordinate proceeded to Chikosha’s office where she intended to check on her tape.

It is alleged that while in the office, the complainant confronted her boss on why he was delaying to process her tape. Chikosha reportedly advised his subordinate that if she wanted her tape to be fast tracked, she was supposed to sleep with him.

To strengthen his advance, Chikosha allegedly grabbed her by the shoulder without her consent and massaged her on the shoulders. According to the State’s allegations, Chikosha’s intentions were to sexually arouse her feelings so that he could fulfil his alleged mission.

Further allegations are that he further fondled her breasts.

In shock, the complainant went on to advise her supervisor who then approached Chikosha who was in his office. As a result, the complainant decided to lodge a police report leading to the arrest of Chikosha and his subsequent appearance in court.

On the day in question, Chikosha said the subordinate came to his office over the issue of her tape which she had been auditioned to do and he told her that such issues were supposed to be dealt with by a production team.

Chikosha, who resides in Glen View 7, indicated that the allegations were malicious since he is a peaceful man who has been doing his job for the past 23 years. Chikosha, who is out of custody on US$50 bail, returns to court on July 9 for his trial continuation.
