Live Updates: Donations for Tinashe Karonga

This appeal has now been closed and all the machines have been bought

Nehanda Radio is appealing to Zimbabweans in the UK to rally around and help Godfrey Karonga and his family acquire a V3 machine for his 13-year-old son Tinashe Karonga who suffered brain damage that has left him paralysed.

The machine is available in Zimbabwe from Ceragem and costs US$1200. They will also require a solar panel (US$200-US$300) to run the machine since they are in the rural areas. So about US$1500 (£1000) will be adequate to change their lives.

For transparency all donations and those donating will be published on this page so that the totals are clear. If you need to speak to the father of the child in Zimbabwe you can call him on +263775 890 295.

Extra from target £190
A donor has since bought Tinashe a wheelchair so the extra money raised will be given to the family in cash.

We are going to buy a card and write down all the names of people who have donated (including amounts) and hand this over to the family on the day we buy and present the equipment. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
