A rare breed of God fearing leaders

What does it take for one to become a great leader? The Bible tells us that: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7). Today we have a crisis for true God inspired leaders to solve the world’s crisis.

People are looking for real transformers in the corporate and religious world. God is raising leaders in all spheres of life (political, education, arts, sports, culture, entertainment, economy and churches) to ensure there is peace and progress in the world.

Dr Myles Munroe said: “Leadership is truly our past and our destiny and is the only thing that will fulfil our natural passion for greatness.” In every generation, God’s plan for humanity includes certain people who do the extraordinary. These people impact history and glorify God by using divine solutions to overcome challenges.

These remarkable believers exhibit virtue and courage in a crisis because of their trust in the Lord and the fortification of their souls with Christian worldviews. God gives wisdom and understanding to the God fearing leaders to make prudent policies that sustain a nation.

We want to share with you about the gifts and power that God has given to mankind in running the affairs of an organization or nation. God inspired leaders are as rare as gold, one is enough to change the fortunes of a nation.

In all humanity, there is a divine deposit of the seed for greatness. Each person came into the world with a seed for greatness buried in a gift needed by the world. Woe on you if you cannot do much with the abundance God has supplied you. You cannot utilize something until you realize you have it. This divine deposit came at the inception of creation.

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and all the creatures that move along the ground” (Genesis 1: 26, NIV).

The above scripture tells us that we are God’s idea. Irrespective of the vehicle used for you to come into the world, just know you are a special vessel before God. There are people who have a low self esteem because they are a product of rape, born by prostitute or come from a very poor background.

I am always challenged how God used people who had no good story to tell about their early childhood to change nations. Do you remember the prostitute Rahab and the woman at the well in John 4 who ended up preaching the message of the Messiah to the whole city.

We are all mines of something and we must spend our time on earth trying to discover ourselves. The precious mineral resource or gift in you is the seed for greatness. Some are mines of gold, silver, platinum, coal, diamonds etc.

I am sure the people of Zimbabwe now appreciate the importance of precious stones like diamonds, you are better than this in God’s sight. Each mine has a unique mineral deposit that cannot compete with any other but is peculiar in its own right.

When we discover our mineral deposit we become more relevant to the world and people will depend on us. You cannot be significant to the world if you do not have anything of value. Your unique attributes should benefit the people for them to consider you as a leader in a particular field.

People who have issues of bread and butter can never be ignored in a society. Children of God have a dominion Spirit in a better sense.

Each person was called to fulfil a particular area of gifting and do not waste time trying to be someone else. Instead discover your God given purpose or destiny and start making big strides towards it. You must walk by leaps and bounces towards your destiny.

The sooner you discover your calling, the early you improve your welfare and that of your community.

God never intended man to dominate one another but complement each other in exploiting the power he deposited in us. The future of your family, community and nation depends on you allowing the lion in you to roar to life. You are a rare breed of a God fearing leader to change the welfare of this world in different spheres of life.

The mother of James and John went to request Jesus to promote her sons so that they will have high positions in the kingdom of God because it is natural and inherent for people to desire greatness. The attitude of greatness is not bad and it must be pursued with diligence. Just like Jesus, God has endowed us with the seven fold dimensions of His Spirit to equip us for great success.

Christians have God’s Spirit to prepare them for greatness. Isaiah 11: 2 talks of the seven fold dimensions of God’s Spirit that made Jesus successful.

“The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him – a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.”

The truth is that we are all destined for greatness like Jesus if we realize God’s purpose in our lives. Understanding God’s purpose makes you realize the resources He has availed to you to make it in life. The Spirit of the Lord (the Spirit of mighty or power) must fill you in order to do the extraordinary things.

It takes an anointing of God to do the right thing at all times. The Spirit of God will elevate and accelerate your life to attain greatness. God has clothed us with His Spirit as heirs to the Kingdom of God so that we can run institutions and defeat humanistic ideas.

We are called to bring the fear of the Lord in all organizations and make people think the Kingdom way in terms of taking charge on earth. Your endowment with the Spirit of God will help you to excel in all walks of life.

To become great, you have to acquire knowledge. People should go to school and get training in their domains. Share ideas with other relevant people who will add value to your vision. Sometimes you need to seek counsel from experienced people to assist you birth your vision.

God will also add wisdom and understanding on top of the knowledge you gather in this world. Wisdom is defined as the right application of knowledge. When you acknowledge wisdom, it will promote you and change everything about you.

You’ll have divine insight into mysteries and secrets, and be able to deal circumspectly in the affairs of life, knowing the right steps to take in everything you do. The Spirit of God gives us tremendous power to influence all our circumstances.

God has given you the seed of greatness so that you can influence your circumstances. As a believer, it suffice to know that you have power for raising the dead, cleansing lepers, opening blind eyes, opening deaf ears, making the crippled walk, chase unclean spirits and any other miracle.

He said to them, “Go into the entire world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people and they will get well” (Mark 16: 15-18, NIV).

God gave us power not only to address spiritual issues but also to control our environment so that we become powerful leaders in the corporate world. As we strive for greatness, we must realize that we were called to serve others (Matthew 25: 25-28).

The secret to greatness is the servant-hood mentality. Jesus told His disciples that the one who want to be the greatest of all must be the slave of all. If you realize that you came into the world to help others you will be destined for greatness.

Such mentality avoids selfish ambitions and looks at the needs of others first. God want you to exert positive influence to others through your gifting. Inspire the young generation to follow your footsteps and be beneficial to the world.

In turn the Lord will richly bless you for your service and all the people would like to identify with you. People should start aligning their mindset with that of God in order to be great. God richly bless you as you brace up for GREATNESS.
