Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has expressed shock at the horror car crash which saw his spokesman Luke Tamborinyoka hospitalised on Sunday after his Toyota Prado vehicle burst a tyre and rolled four times in Domboshava.

Using his twitter account ( @MRTsvangirai ) Tsvangirai wrote “My spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka was involved in a car accident (on) Saturday. He is in hospital and needs your prayers.”
A full statement sent by the Prime Minister’s office said “Our thoughts at present are with Luke and his family. Luke is a family man and we appreciate that this is a challenging time for everyone who is close to him.
“We trust that God gives them courage. I have known Luke for a long time and he is a passionate, capable and courageous member of the team. Therefore, our collective prayer is that Luke is healed as soon as possible.”
Tamborinyoka was on his way to his rural home in Domboshava when his car, a Toyota Prado, burst its rear tyre and overturned before landing on its roof.
He reportedly suffered serious head injuries, eight broken ribs, a perforated lung and damaged vein on the left arm. He was admitted to the Avenues Clinic where he was reportedly to be on life support drifting in and out of consciousness drifting in and out of consciousness.
His brothers sustained minor injuries.
On Wednesday ICT Minister and MDC-T organising secretary Nelson Chamisa said Tamborinyoka was showing signs of improvement.
“We have a God who answers prayers. I have been there (at the hospital) and he is showing remarkable improvement,” he said.
