Former Orchestra Mberikwazvo ‘bad boy’, Peter Kagomera faces eviction from his Chitungwiza lodgings following revelations that he has neglected paying his rentals for two months. The nimble-footed dancer confirmed he was broke.
He now wishes he had remained a street kid and never tasted the good life.
“Murombo haarovi chinenguwo. Mudhara Macheso did a great job and took me out of the streets but I did not fulfill my end of the bargain. I did not pay my rentals for two months and I have nowhere to go. Ndongodzokera hangu kuHarare,” he said with tears flowing down his cheeks.
Asked about his new dance group he conceded that it was not working.
“It’s not working out my brother, hakuna chinhu. Its better if i had remained in the street and never known the good life,” said Kagomera. He said his only saviour was Alick macheso.
“Ndakakutadzirai Baba VaSharo, Yellow (Tsandukwa) ndakatadza Mdhara ndoendazve here kunogara pakati peguta muripo,” he pleaded.
Alick Macheso himself was heard on several shows saying that he took Kagomera from the street.
“Uyu anonzi Peter, takamutora pakati kati peguta.” He, however, ruled out his return anytime soon at his recent shows.
Commenting on his behaviour, Peter said: “I admit that I have tarnished the Mberikwazvo brand on several occasions but I am still their son. I need one last chance please. Others have been to jail for many years, on different occasions but their families have welcomed them,” he said.
Peter was dismissed from Orchestra Mberikwazvo after he assaulted a police officer. He is currently serving a community service for the offence. H Metro
