The PM will rise from the ‘Deep End’ once again

By Tallent Chingovo

The recent past days have seen the media houses especially the Zanu PF propaganda castles such as the Herald, ZBC and The Sunday Mail awash with the Prime Minister Tsvangirai’s so-called sex scandal.

As usual the motive was not to inform the nation on real and objective issues surrounding the Prime Minister’s life but a futile strategy to malign, denigrate and embarrass the Right Honourable Prime Minister ahead of his wedding which successfully took place on Saturday 15 September.

Even the well celebrated political turncoats whose unpredictable turns are not inspired by convenience but rather their pockets were not ashamed to palate from this choreographed, doctored and remote controlled imaginary sex scandal.

A closer retrospection into all the loquacious brouhaha suggests that there is more to it than the noisy echoes and indeed there is more. It is not a secret that when cancerous cells develop in a human body they have to be done away with as soon as yesterday.

Indeed the spy lady, Locardia Karimatsenga Tembo is worse than Hodgkin’s cancer which was dangerously wriggling into Prime Minister’s life and ultimately posing a threat not only to Morgan Tsvangirai but the MDC-T and the country at large and as such she deserved to be dumped for her duplicity.

From the onset, this spy lady was a package of controversy whose intention was not to genuinely settle with the Prime Minister for marriage but to accomplish the interests of her handlers in ZANU PF from within.

Fortunately the alert eyes and vigilant ears of the Prime Minister were there to advise him that indeed he was in the mucky waters at the deep end once again, hence he publicly withdrew from this satanic alliance.

The Prime Minister made a public pronouncement that he had no confidence in the relationship anymore and as such anyone who cries foul about his new marriage intention to Ms. Elizabeth Macheka is exposing the hand that handles Locardia, which in this case is ZANU PF, hence their unrelenting but futile character assassination expedition on Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.

The so-called sex scandal and the ultimate desperate attempt to deny Prime Minister to marry and wed his newly found love of his heart Ms. Elizabeth Macheka has more to it than meets the eye or the noisy echoes packaged in the character assassination expedition.

This goes to confirm that Morgan Tsvangirai is the most popular political figure in the country and his continuous dominance in the Zimbabwean political corridors threatens the ZANU PF cracked power lines.

His existence is incessantly stimulating their sweat glands and they are sweating through every opening as they try to figure out how to curb his ever sprawling influence.

So the fictitious, false and frivolous makeshift sex scandals stand to vindicate the long expressed opinion in the public domain that there is a hand working day and night to soil the image of the Prime Minister ahead of elections due to be held anytime next year.

To ZANU PF, Prime Minister Tsvangirai is now an industry on its own with a capital budget of about US100 million and line functions manifesting in the secret agent’s Blackhawk and Spiderweb.

Tsvangirai is a source of their nightmares, they have invested in his demise, they want him down at all costs including setting up ladies of the night and day who ask for photo shoots with the Prime Minister and later use them as evidence in the courts to nail him by claiming that they are married to him.

All have been said and it’s known that a stinging mudslinging exercise against the Prime Minister is a well sponsored project whose completion is to be celebrated with his downfall.

What is unknown to ZANU PF, is that Prime Minister Tsvangirai as a person is just a mere individual representing a people’s idea, so fighting him through his bedroom is as good as throwing bullets in the dark.

An idea that Zimbabwe needs a better leadership, which is accountable to the people shall live forever and inspire people until they cross over to a New Zimbabwe. The people’s idea that all should be empowered regardless of their political affiliations or connections is what they desperately seek to squeeze out of him through incomprehensible pieces of blackmails.

It remains to be seen whether it will be a successful expedition or yet another futile resource and time wasting exercise reminiscent of the false treason charges which were once laid against the Prime Minister in 2003.

History and past experiences indicate that the Prime Minister has swum in such mucky waters at the deep end before and never sunk despite being down pressed.

Now it’s known, they want to stop him but they don’t know how but amid all this hypocrisy from an institution where scandals of such magnitude are brewed, backed, born and bred, such as ZANU PF, there are facts to be laid bare for all to see, besides the aforementioned one.

ZANU PF used this as a smokescreen to divert the people’s attention from pressing national issues such as the new constitution making process. This is against the background that Prime Minister and his party officially launched a “VOTE YES” campaign on 9 September for the referendum to be conducted in October without fail.

This unsettled ZANU PF and their appendages in the civil society such as National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) because the new constitution and a stable Zimbabwe pose a danger to their lifeline.

They all strive well in an anarchical political environment and crisis hence a unified attack at the inclusive COPAC draft constitution.

ZANU PF wish to illegally smuggle their party policies and slogans into the supreme law of the land through rewriting their own draft constitution whose proposals maintain an all-powerful executive authority and an unaccountable government structure expressed in a centralized state.

The people of Zimbabwe want a devolved state, an executive with reasonable powers and an accountable government with checks and balances and that corresponds with Prime Minister Tsvangirai and MDC-T’s position.

So the Prime Minister’s wedding presented the right platform for ZANU PF to steal the people’s attention away from such a crucial matter and drive it towards a petty private bedroom issue which has nothing to do with the nation.

The ZANU PF proposed illegal draft Constitution further isolates them from the electorate who stand as the sole determinants in the elections if they are held freely and fairly.

The former ruling party wants to scuttle the process, avoid reforms and maintain the status quo in a manner reminiscent of the apartheid regime which devised anarchy in South Africa in the 1980s.

They want to achieve this through crafting time wasters such as their party draft constitution, deviatory tactics, violence and blackmailing all the leadership of progressive forces such as Minister Tendai Biti and Prime Minister Tsvangirai.

Just recently the nation witnessed ZANU PF pundits in the war veterans association and the civil servants besieging honourable Biti’s office demanding money from him yet they are fully aware that proceeds from the major source of revenue, Chiadzwa Diamond fields, are not being remitted to the national treasury but are channelled towards a ZANU PF parallel government through the Ministry of Mines which is under the armpit of the former revolutionary party.

The movements and management of the proceeds from the diamond fields remain a mystery to the nation. Now, through their certified propaganda kingdoms, they incessantly seek to down press honourable Biti and tarnish his image ahead of the elections to be held next year after all the necessary reforms have been accomplished.

The vitriol spewed against the Prime Minister and all MDC-T leadership using the imaginary sex scandals goes to reinforce the MDC-T’s position that important national processes such as the second all stakeholders’ conference, referendum and elections should be supervised by SADC and the AU to avoid bloodshed which characterized the 2008 election runoff.

With all the audacity to deform a character, it’s obvious and crystal clear that they are ready to kill the flesh for power since the former is bigger than the latter.

After all is said and done (by ZANU PF), they still remain eluded by the famous Shona saying which goes like, ‘semusambangwena unorigwa nemvura asi uchizomuka’. Prime Minister Tsvangirai will fulfil the biblical scriptures on Isaiah 60 vs. 1, ‘Be like David, Arise and Shine’!

The incessant crying of the Titihoa bird!
