Picture: Tsvangirai consoles survivor of Buhera murders

In this picture, then opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai can be seen consoling Sanderson Makombe who managed to escape when his colleagues Talent Mabika and Tichaona Chiminya were brutally murdered by CIO mobster Joseph Mwale.

In the run up to parliamentary elections in 2000, Mwale and his fellow accomplice, war vet Kainos ‘Kitsiyatota’ Zimunya, petrol bombed a vehicle driven by Chiminya and Mabika. Both activists were campaigning in Buhera for Tsvangirai.
