HARARE- A Harare municipal boss reportedly starved his wife and three children for three days in a desperate bid to evict them from their matrimonial home to pave way for his mistress.
Chief Building Inspector Roy Nyabvure (54) reportedly pushed his wife, Hilda and the kids out to have his alleged new girl-friend, Linah to move in. Hilda and the kids are currently staying at a safe house.
Sources told H-Metro that Nyabvure had the backing of his mother, Gogo Lucky Louisa Bhebe (76) when he also locked Hilda with the children outside their Marlborough home for three days.
They had to sleep in the car, which was being used by Hilda but the car has since been repossesed by Roy. The incident took place at House No. 631 New Ardlin in Marlborough last weekend.
When H-Metro arrived at Nyabvure’s house, his mother Louisa could be heard shouting on top of her voice as she swore that Hilda would certainly leave.
“Pack your bags and go, you are no longer wanted here. You are a thief and that’s why you were fired from your job as a nurse. You must leave along with your children,” shouted Gogo Louisa.
However, the enraged Gogo Louisa ended up in cells after she was arrested for burning her daughter-in-law’s clothes including knickers. After the police had left, Nyabvure returned in the company of his friend identified as Tony.
His children confronted him after the neighbours blocked the car that had been hired to carry their mother’s belongings. Nyabvure’s four-year-daughter was injured in the scuffle and left bleeding profusely.
“Why are you doing that to us please, bring back the keys we want to get inside,” she pleaded with her father. Nyabvure justified his actions saying he wanted to punish Hilda who was always quarrelling with his mother.
“Now she got my mother arrested but I can swear that she will never find peace here. I am aware that her brother is the one who advised her to do that,” said Nyabvure.
After hearing that the neighbours had called the police, Nyabvure ran and jumped into Tony’s car before speeding off fearing the law enforcement agents. Hilda said she has had numerous ‘fights’ with Roy over girlfriends, alleging that he gets support from his mother each time they have infidelity issues.
“His mother is always on his side each time we have issues over girlfriends,” said Hilda. H Metro
