President Robert Mugabe has sensationally claimed that Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai apologized to him over a boycott of last week’s cabinet meeting by MDC ministers.

In an interview with journliasts from the state owned media Mugabe claimed, ‘We talked a bit about it with the Prime Minister and he apologised for it, and thought they should have come and if they had any grievances, aired their grievances in the meeting.’

Mugabe went further on to say, ‘It was a surprise to me to tell you the truth. I don’t know whether this is going to be the order of doing things. It’s insolence on one hand, but it’s also abysmal ignorance on the other.’

Last week Deputy Prime Minister Thokozani Khupe led a boycott by MDC Ministers who argued that the moving of the cabinet from Tuesday to Monday was an attempt to prevent Tsvangirai from chairing in Mugabe’s absence. The President was due to leave for Libya the following day.

Furious MDC cabinet ministers were awaiting Monday to find out from Tsvangirai if indeed he had apologized to Mugabe or the Zanu PF leader was just stirring things up.
