The man who beat President Robert Mugabe in the March 29 presidential election has vowed to finish the job off in a run-off whose date has not yet been announced.

After weeks of debate MDC President Morgan Tsvangirai says he will be travelling back to Zimbabwe to face the 84-year old dictatorship of President Mugabe.

Tsvangirai made the announcement while addressing journalists in South Africa on Saturday. "A runoff election could finally knock out the dictator for good," Tsvangirai said. "I am ready and the people are ready for the final round."

Despite the MDC saying Tsvangirai won over 50 percent of the vote, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission a virtual Zanu PF extension gave Tsvangirai 47,8 % against Mugabe's 43%.

A campaign of violence across the country which has claimed the lives of over 37 MDC activists and supporters raised concerns about a free and fair run-off.

Meetings by several MDC management and exective councils have all come up with the resolution that handing Mugabe the presidency on a silver platter is not an option.
