Obituary: In memory of Learnmore Jongwe
On the 22nd of October 2009, the Zimbabwe National Students Union will mark the 7th anniversary on the death of one of our illustrious sons and leader Learnmore Judah Jongwe who passed away in 2002 in a prison cell at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.
ZINASU caretaker council gets to work
Business was in full swing at the Zimbabwe National Students Union offices as the National Transitional Caretaker Council (NTCC) held its inaugural meeting on Monday at the National Offices in their eager to start the ball rolling towards the much awaited 8th Bi-annual congress penciled for August this year.

Mugabe frees 39 but holds 6 for ‘treason’
The Zimbabwe National Students Union has condemned the continued incarceration, on treason charges, of 6 activists mostly student leaders and trade union activists. On Monday, 39 of the original 45 activists were freed after being arrested on the 19th of February for watching video footage of protests in Egypt and Tunisia.
Has the MDC abandoned students in Zimbabwe?
The January 2008 Bi-Annual Congress which saw the election of the Bere-led national executive council had among its resolutions that ZINASU shall support the MDC led by Morgan Tsvangirai in the harmonized elections which were to be held in March of that same year.
Daniel Molokele joins ZINASU debate on BTH
Daniel Molokele, previously known as Fortune Mguni, was a founding member of the Zimbabwe National Students Union, serving as Vice President to the late Learnmore Jongwe in 1997 and 1998. This week he joins the debate on the factionalism rocking ZINASU and tells SW Radio Africa journalist Lance Guma that the students have lost their voice and have simply become pawns for the rival factions in civil society.

The Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) condemns the ongoing bickering, backbiting; smear campaigns and infighting in Civic society mainly at Crisis Coalition and Student Solidarity Trust, which if allowed to go on unchallenged can weaken the capacity of our pro democracy movement to deliver a democratic Zimbabwe.
Midlands State University students demo over fees
