HARARE- The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Gideon Gono, intended to form his own political party because he felt President Robert Mugabe and his party, Zanu PF were now so weak and no longer relevant to the country according to the latest Wikileaks cables.
Mugabe declined US exit package: WikiLeaks
HARARE- The United States government offered President Robert Mugabe an exit package which would have guaranteed a soft landing for the octogenarian leader just prior to the 2008 harmonised elections. The offer was declined. The US government was confident that Mugabe would be defeated in the elections.

Ailing Mugabe says he will not retire
BULAWAYO— Zimbabwe’s 87-year-old president said Saturday he will not retire before proposed elections next year and will stay on also to lead the country against what he called a Western campaign for regime change.
‘Zanu PF sell-outs worse than dogs’
BULAWAYO – War veterans’ leader Jabulani Sibanda yesterday increased pressure on Zanu PF regime change merchants and sellouts who connived to remove President Robert Mugabe from power with the Americans when he described them as worse than dogs.
