Interpol asked to seize Jonathan Moyo
By Tendai Kamhungira
The Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission (Zacc), in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), have issued a warrant of apprehension against self-exiled former Higher and Tertiary Education minister Jonathan Moyo, who is facing 14 counts of fraud.
Moyo reportedly misallocated over $400 000 from the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef) to non-core issues. Moyo was then “arrested” by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on charges of abusing the funds.
He then rushed to the Constitutional Court, arguing his rights had been violated as ZACC had no arresting powers. Moyo subsequently lost his constitutional challenge against arrest.
