Despite the fact that he will be away from his family during the most popular oliday in Zimbabwe, Jah Prayzah’s manager, Keen Mushapaidze, told the Daily News that the Kutonga Kwaro hit-maker was looking forward to his maiden tour of Malawi.

“It will be the first time Jah will be out of Zimbabwe during Christmas. He will perform on December 23 and 24. Interestingly, we will travel back to Zimbabwe on Christmas Day but despite that we are still very excited about the tour,” said Mushapaidze.

He added that Jah Prayzah was particularly looking forward to the Malawi tour due to the inroads he is making in the country dubbed “The Warm Heart of Africa.”

“Ideally Christmas is a day for the family but at the end of the day the same family needs to be fed so for that reason we have to go to Malawi to work,” said Mushapaidze.

According to a Malawian newspaper, The Nation, Jah Prayzah has become a star attraction in that country.

“Mdhara Vachauya is a song that is locally played at many weddings, parties and other social gatherings. The creative brains behind it is Zimbabwe’s run-away modern music superstar Jah Prayzah.

“He is now a household name not only in Malawi but Africa and beyond. He has collaborated with big names of music in Africa. From South Africa’s Mafikizolo, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Nigeria’s Yemi Alade and her compatriot Davido, the artiste has done it all and is at the moment undoubtedly on top of his game,” read a recent article by the paper.

The imminent Malawi tour is one of several foreign concerts that Jah Prayzah has got as a spin-off of his collaborations with top African stars.

This year alone, Jah Prayzah, who has done collaborations with African music giants Mafikizolo, Tanzanian international artiste Diamond Platnumz, Nigerian music stars Davido and Yemi Alade as well as Tswana songstress Charma Gal, has toured Namibia, Australia and South Africa.

“This is one of several gigs outside Zimbabwe on our calendar. Clearly, we are beginning to reap rewards from duets with African stars,” Mushapaidze told the Daily News. DailyNews
