Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to be hinting that Ousmane Dembele could be set for a transfer to Barcelona after retweeting an old video of his Borussia Dortmund team-mate.

The France international’s future is making headlines across Europe at the moment with rumours of interest from Barca, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United in recent times.

With Barcelona losing Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain today, there is growing talk that they could look to poach Dembele from Dortmund as a replacement for the Brazilian.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of Europe’s top young talents after a superb season last term, though his club have repeatedly insisted he is not for sale this summer.

Latest reports suggest Barcelona are growing in confidence over the move as they may be able to smooth things along by offering Gerard Deulofeu as part of the deal, and Aubameyang’s Twitter activity may be in reference to that.

The Gabon international, himself linked with a move away earlier this summer, retweeted an old interview in which Dembele is seen admitting his dream is to play for Barcelona.

This was during his time at former club Rennes when he was just making a name for himself, and the old quotes may be coming back to haunt him now as he perhaps hope to push through a move to the Nou Camp.

Aubameyang may just be teasing his colleague, but it’s fair to say he won’t have done a great deal to dampen the growing transfer speculation that Dortmund could do without.

Barcelona have pocketed an astonishing £199m from the sale of Neymar to PSG, so will surely feel they can give the Bundesliga giants a tempting enough offer for their French forward.
