Highlanders left back Honest Moyo’s excuse to miss the Warriors CHAN game might not have been truthful.

National team manager, Wellington Mpandare indicated the player had gone for trials and H-Metro understands Bosso were not respected in the whole process.

Also, Honest may have missed out on a number of scouts that were watching Zimbabwe play against Namibia yesterday as national team performances outweigh club records.

“Honest was not dropped, we wanted him badly for the Chan squad because of his excellent combination with Mushure. We were however, advised that he is set to go for trials this week and the club chasing him is eager to have a look at him so we were left with no option but to release him,” Mpandare was quoted as saying.

It could not be verified who exactly was behind the player’s release and in what capacity.

However, indications are that a number of players resisted staying behind after Cosafa as there were some agents keen on taking them to other clubs.

“Honest was not the only one wanted for trials. More than five players were wanted for trials in South Africa after Zimbabwe won the title. But most of the players stood guided by their clubs and agents. By playing for Zimbabwe in CHAN it was still a chance to get the attention of foreign clubs,” said a source.H-Metro
