Having already brought Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates – the latter in a club-record deal worth more than £50million – Wenger intends to push on in the summer market.

The Daily Express say the French boss is wary of the speculation over Alexis Sanchez’s head after he conceded his future may be away from the Emirates.

And it is claimed the Gunners will turn to Celtic and France U21 attacker Dembele if Sanchez leaves the club.

Scoring 32 goals in 48 appearances across the campaign, Manchester United target Dembele flourished in his first season in Scotland after signing from Fulham last summer.

Wenger, 67, has also reportedly joined the race to sign Dutch defender van Dijk and is weighing up a £45m offer for his services

Van Dijk was expected to join Liverpool earlier in the summer but his dream move to Anfield collapsed after the Reds were accused of foul play in the transfer market.
