“Time is an important commodity in my business. How could he just hire me, and doze off on arrival at his house? He was supposed to pay me because he took me from my work station where I could have been hired by better paying and performing clients,” said Moyo.

Prosecuting, Mr Kenneth Shava said Moyo, a hooker who operates from a bar in the city centre was hired by Mr Albert Mhlanga of Old Lobengula suburb.

“On October 31 this year at around 2AM, the complainant met the accused person at a local pub. They spent some time together before the accused person hired her and took her to his home for sexual services for the night,” he said.

Mr Shava said on arrival at his residence, Mr Mhlanga fell asleep as he was too drunk.

“As soon as they arrived at the complainant’s residence, he fell asleep. He was heavily drunk and could not make it. He had not yet paid Moyo. Moyo was allegedly angry that her time had been wasted for nothing as she could have been hired by better paying and performing clients. She then took his cellphone, a Nokia Astra 503 valued at $30 and went away unnoticed,” he said.

Mhlanga woke up and discovered that Moyo was gone and his cellphone was missing. He reported the matter to the police and Moyo was arrested outside a city pub where she solicits for clients. Chronicle
