According to the UK-based Free Zimbabwe Advocacy (FZA) group, Mawarire is pencilled to take part in the #zimbabweriseupuktour that will also feature prominent activists such as Patson Dzamara, Sten Zvorwadza, Linda Masarira and musician Thomas Mapfumo who will all address gatherings in Leicester and Dunstable to drum up support for their cause.

“We roped Mapfumo into the campaign to effectively use his appeal and impact to reach out to a larger audience and create international visibility for the programme.”

“The ultimate goal and objective of the concerts is to harness the synergies at play and mobilise a global audience to rally behind the movement for change sweeping the country and bring about a return to a democratic,” organiser Arthur Janjawa said in a letter from the FZA group which was sent to Zvorwadza. Nehanda Radio
