“He was travelling alone but unfortunately, there is no-one to tell us what exactly happened. We suspect that, considering the time into the night, that he might have dozed off and lost control of the vehicle.

“The wreck shows that the vehicle rolled several times before landing on its roof. He was thrown out of the vehicle and sustained deep cuts on the head. We are not sure of other injuries in his body but he died on the spot.”

Family spokesperson, Mr Cleopas Nyemudeza said this had come as a shock and they were short of words.

“I really can’t say much. I’m actually speechless on this tragic loss which no one saw coming.

“My uncle was more of a brother and friend to me, and I must say, this is a big loss to the entire family and community of Bulawayo. Uncle Langton was an open and free buddy whom you could confide in at any moment,” he said.

Mr Bungani said today (Wednesday) the family would travel to Ruwo’s rural home in Chimanimani, where he will be buried tomorrow.

Ruwo is survived by wife Fadzai Mwenge and three children. Chronicle
