Fungisai, Dboi & Sparxx to perform in the UK this weekend

Fungisai Zvakavapano Mashavave will join the duo of Dboi & Sparxx and other artistes at the upcoming edition of the United Kingdom version of the Summer Invasion following spirited demand from revellers.

Fungisai was not part of the just ended Invasion Tour, but funmakers cried out for her inclusion, together with Dboi & Sparxx.

“In response to the public frustrations of Fungisai and Dboi & Sparxx not attending the just ended UK Summer Invasion Tour due to delays in the processing of their travel permits by the UK immigration authorities, the UKSI Team are happy to announce that they have listened to the public’s demands and have re-scheduled another opportunity for the artistes’,” the organisers said in a statement.

They said Fungisai and the Afropop duo from Mutare would be touring the UK under the UK Summer Invasion #TheShutDownEdition from September 10 to 11.

Their first performance will be at the Oxygen Night Club in Leicester and will move to the Dunstable Rugby Club grounds in Dunstable (Luton) on the following day.

The Luton event which will be an afternoon barbecue family day occasion which will showcase top quality music, authentic Zimbabwean food and culture.

Ticket prices have been reduced to cater for more revellers.

“As a measure of good faith and a gesture of showing good business principles, in compensation to our promise of delivering and exceptional top quality UK Summer Invasion experience which saw Fungisai and Dboi and Sparxx not being able to perform during the maiden touring programme, we have reduced the ticketing prices from £25.00 to £10.00 for advance tickets and £15 on the day,” said the UKSI Team.

The final headline performance list of these events will include the artistes’ Fungisai, Dboi & Sparxx and Killa Trilla.

The organisers also indicated that there would be ‘Pihwayi Madrinks’ sessions enforced at all venues for the first 3 hours of venue doors opening where all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available at reduced happy hour prices and the price lists would be published in due course.

They also highlighted that authentic Southern African cuisine would be served at the afternoon family event.

The UK Summer Invasion tour will now be a yearly fixture with a mandate to showcase and raise awareness of the Zimbabwean and Southern African heritage through music, arts, food and culture in the UK. Nehanda Radio
