Wafawarova finds Reason: Zanu PF propagandist blasts his party

Australia-based Zanu PF propagandist and controversial correspondent with the State-run Herald, Reason Wafawarova has seemingly broken ranks with President Robert Mugabe’s party, describing the ruling party as unelectable, as the fallout in the warring party continues.

Wafawarova, a rabid propagandist who has shamelessly defended Zanu PF misrule for many years now, is believed to be frustrated that his godfather, Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is on the ropes as his ambitions to succeed Mugabe are fading on a daily basis and blasted Mugabe and the ruling party in a terse Facebook posting.

He said voting for Zanu PF now was a waste of time.

He wrote: “I pity Zimbabwe, a nation whose people are supposed to vote and choose between a clueless government and a clueless opposition. It’s like voting between dysentery and diarrhoea.”

And in April he posted another message virtually saying it is undemocratic and treats its members with disdain.

He wrote: “In Zanu PF, it is direly dangerous to be upright in one’s dealings. The party views its membership like a timber forest, where straight trees are cut down while the crooked ones are left standing.”

And recently, Wafawarova appeared to understand the feelings of thousands of people who were protesting against Mugabe’s rule.

He said: “When it comes to this matter of the #‎ThisFlag campaign, I don’t imagine you will dispute the fact that at present the stupid people are in an absolutely overwhelming majority on social media.

“The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatsoever that it is not utterly absurd; indeed in view of the silliness of the majority of mankind, a widely spread belief is more likely to be foolish than sensible.

“To me this is a matter of conscience, and of course when it comes to matters of conscience the law of the majority simply has no place.” Daily News
